Best Beef Marinade
When it comes to beef, I like mine tender and full of flavour. I’ll admit it, I’m not a plain grilled steak person. This is the Best Beef Marinade that I have every had. I love the combination of sweet and savoury, with a pop of flavour and smokiness from the Rosemary and Smoked Paprika.
How do I make the Best Beef Marinade?
Happily it’s super easy to make the Best Beef Marinade, it uses very basic ingredients and the meat only needs 30 minutes (longer is better) of marinating time if you’re in a pinch. The intense flavours in the marinade mean that even on a busy night when you haven’t prepped ahead you can have delicious grilled beef kabobs or steak.

I highly recommend making a big batch of this marinade as part of your meal prep. Place your fresh steaks or Kabob cubes in freezer safe bags (I like these Silicone ones) and place in the freezer. Do this at the beginning of summer and fill your freezer!
What cut of Beef should I use?
Selecting the right cut of beef can really make a difference. Beef that is going to be grilled needs more marbling (fat) in it to be tender. Choose the right cut for the preparation method.
For Kebabs
- Top Sirloin
When grilling beef kebabs I have 3 rules I follow. Do not over cook! The small cubes of meat cook much faster than grilling a whole steak and you don’t want dry, chewy kebabs.
To get the meat nicely BBQ’d on all sides don’t crowd them on the skewers. Leave space between each cube to allow them to all get nicely browned.
Don’t grill the vegetables on the same skewer. As pretty as it looks, vegetables cook at a much different speed than steak, and will often burn by the time the steak is cooked. Keep the veggies on their own for best results.
Grilled Whole Steaks
- Ribeye
- Striploin
- T-Bone
- Porterhouse
- Filet Mignon
Many people prefer a rub to a marinade or just simple salt and pepper when Grilling Steaks. I like the flavour of the marinade. The choice is yours, you do you!
Steaks for Salads:
- Flank Steak
- Skirt Steak
- Flat Iron
Marinate, grill to medium rare and slice. Don’t forget to slice against the grain to get the most tender results.
