Lemon Garlic Marinade

Are you looking for a go to marinade that’s easy to make and has many uses?   One that is full of flavour, and makes your chicken or pork nice and moist and is excellent on veggies and seafood? A marinade that can be made in 5 minute?  A marinade that is fresh, light, and savoury?  This Lemon Garlic Marinade is exactly what you are looking for.

With only a few ingredients that I always have on  hand, this Lemon Garlic Marinade is one that gets used often in my Meal Prepping and Meal Planning.   On meal prep day, this marinade allows me to make prepaheadable chicken, pork or vegetables while prepping and have it ready for use later in the week or to fill my freezer with.

Is Lemon Garlic Marinade freezer friendly?

This marinade is totally Prepaheadable.  In fact, I like to let the pork, chicken or sliced vegetables marinate at least 24 hours, and it’s completely freezer friendly too.    You can also use Lemon Garlic marinade on shrimp but you need to add the marinade to just before cooking.  The acid in from the lemon will start to cook the shrimp and change its texture.  It’s not a good thing.

How do I cook with Lemon Garlic Marinade?

  • Grill the Chicken, Pork or Vegetables
  • Pan Fry Chicken, Vegetables, or Shrimp
  • Roast Pork Tenderloin in the oven
  • Make Instant Pot Creamy Parmesan Lemon Chicken Penne
  • Make  Lemon Garlic Chicken, Shrimp, Pork or Vegetable Skewers and BBQ
  • Roast marinated vegetable on a sheet pan in the oven


Lemon Garlic Marinade

Lemon, garlic and herbs come together to create a bright, flavourful marinade for chicken , pork, vegetables and seafood. It's a prepaheadable staple!

  • 1 whole lemon zest & juice
  • 1 Teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 Tablespoon dried basil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup Italian parsley minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper


  • In a small bowl combine all marinade ingredients. Mix well.
  • Pour over chicken, vegetables, or pork and marinate overnight or freeze


This marinade can also be prepped ahead.  Combine all ingredients in a small mason jar.  Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
